Diving on Big Cat
You are here: Home > Photography > Diving on Big CatMy mate Damien and I just spent two days and nights aboard Big Cat Reality, diving in the turtle and Whale infested waters off Moreton Island. I did eight dives in total - and most were absolutely fantastic!
The highlight of the trip had to be the Humpback Whale we saw under water on our first dive! Other highlights included heaps of Grey Nurse sharks (I counted 8 within view in one spot), a truly amazing fever of Eagle Rays - at least 35 of them.
I also descended into the bowels of the wrecked Concrete barge and said hello to the 1.5m Groper that lives there, watched a group of squids, and swam with several turtles and squillions of gorgeous fish.
The Big Cat people are awesome - they feed and look after you, and there's a great atmosphere on the boat. Totally recommended to anyone who wants to do some quality diving near Brissie.
There are the pics I took from the boat with my not-so-waterproof camera. I may add some of Damien's underwater pics at a later date. Thanks go to all - the great crew and fellow divers - it was a great weekend!
